Imaging Microlens Blends Using Image Subtraction
نویسندگان
چکیده
Blended light is an important source of degeneracy in the characterization of mi-crolensing events, particularly in binary-lens and high magnification events. We show how the techniques of image subtraction can be applied to form an image of the blend with the source removed. In many cases, it should be possible to construct images with very high signal-to-noise ratio. Analysis of these images can help distinguish between competing models that have different blend fractions, and in some cases should allow direct detection of the lens.

متن کاملA Doublet Microlens Array for Imaging of Biological Micron-size Objects
We propose a novel fluidic assembly-based microfabrication approach for obtaining low-cost, high numerical aperture (NA), doublet microlens arrays. The proposed doublet architecture consists of glass microspheres trapped on a predefined array of silicon microholes and covered with a thin polymer layer. An array of ~56 μm in diameter microlenses with a numerical aperture of ~0.495 were fabricate...
متن کاملDifferential Imaging with a Multicolor Detector Assembly: A New ExoPlanet Finder Concept
Simultaneous spectral differential imaging is a high contrast technique by which subtraction of simultaneous images reduces noise from atmospheric speckles and optical aberrations. Small non-common wave front errors between channels can seriously degrade its performance. We present a new concept, a multicolor detector assembly (MCDA), which can eliminate this problem. The device consists of an ...
متن کاملLarge Area Full Fill Factor Microlens Arrays
Production of microlens arrays using the resist reflow technique has been extensively reported1,2. Theses arrays have fill factors approaching 75% and in lensed systems the unlensed light introduces noise into the imaging system. N T Gordon, C L Jones and D Purdy3 reported a sophisticated techniques able to create full fill, however, this is expensive. Davies and McCormick4, using optical litho...
متن کاملReview report of Microlens and Micro-Wedge Optical Concentrator Technology for Solid State Image Sensor
Microlens technology for solid state image sensor has been studied in the report. Though microlens can increase the effective aperture ratio, a reflection effect induced by the microlenses would increase optical cross talk and noise level. For high quality imaging, a new technology of micro-wedge optical concentrators (jJ.-WOC), is more suitable.
